‘Ghana, key player in Nigeria’s affairs’ – Nigeria’s Labour party

Nigerian political parties are busily campaigning in Ghana ahead of their impending Presidential elections because Ghana is a key player in Nigeria’s affair, National Secretary of Nigeria’s opposition Labour Party has said.

According to Kayode Ajulo, it will be unfortunate for any Nigerian politician to underrate the impact their citizens residing in Ghana have on their internal politics.

Some Nigerian opposition parties have erected giant billboards in Ghana’s capital, Accra, canvassing for votes ahead of the February 14 elections.

Speaking on Morning Starr with host Kafui Dey on Tuesday, Ajulo said the sheer size of the Nigerian community in Ghana makes it difficult to ignore their voice in the internal affairs of Africa’s most populous nation.

“This is the season of elections and everyone is campaigning in Nigeria and whether we like it or not the country Ghana has a very big role to play when it comes to any issue happening to Nigeria.

“We have a lot of Nigerians living in Ghana. Ghana still remains a partner in everything Nigeria wants to do and I believe that whosoever wants to succeed politically must do everything possible to reach out to their people wherever they may be,” he stated.
