Ghana Bar Association retains executives

Elmina, Sept 29, GNA – The Ghana Bar Association has returned all the seven-member national executives unopposed for another year’s term during elections to climax the association’s three-day annual general conference at Elmina.

They are Mr Solomon Kwami Tetteh, President, Mrs Felicia Gbesemete, Vice President, Mr Benson Nutsukpui, Secretary, Mr Peter Zwennes, Assistant Secretary, Mr Kwesi Cab-Addae, Public Relations Officer, Mrs Efua Ghartey, Assistant Public Relations Officer and Mr Frank Beecham, Treasurer.

The conference was on the theme “modern trends in legal practice: changing old habits”.

Mr Tetteh said he would continue to pursue his vision of seeking to sharpen the expertise of members in order to achieve an enhanced legal service delivery to the satisfaction of their clients. Later in an interview with journalists, he said the association had spent 2.6 billion towards the construction of a ‘Bar Centre’ estimated at 3.5 billion cedis.

He said the first phase of the project would comprise offices, conference halls, research rooms and libraries and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. Mr Tetteh said the second phase would involve the construction of a conference centre, provision of research facilities, sport and health maintenance and social facilities.
