GES says efforts being made to place all qualified BECE students

Accra, Oct. 15, GNA – The Ghana Education Service (GES) on Thursday assured the public that the 2009 school placement was still on course and all efforts were being made to place students who had qualified but were yet to be placed.

A statement signed by Mr Charles Parker-Allotey, Head of Public Relations of the GES, said qualified candidates who had still not been placed in any school of their choice were to submit photocopies of either their West African Examination Council (WAEC) Certificates or result slips to the District Directorate of Education where their JHSs were located or the Regional Directorate of Education by Wednesday, October 21.

It said certain technical problems concerning texting on SMS codes were detected and candidates who may have encountered any problems with their index numbers, names and choice of school or any other problems associated with the 2009 placement should write a petition with a photocopy of the WAEC certificate/result slip to the District Directorate of Education or Regional Directorate of Education as soon as possible.

Members of the public should call telephone numbers 021-663045 or 021-663666 for any other pertinent issues.
