The Global Centre for Transformational Leadership (GCTL) has honoured five individuals with Global Leadership awards and conferred on them honorary doctor of letters degree.

They are Ms Akosua Agyapong musician, (Arts and Culture), Mr. Owusu Sefa Boakye, proprietor of Anita Hotel, (Hospitality), Mrs Felicity Boakye Danquah, Proprietor of Jofel Catering Services, (Food and Catering), Mrs Audile Owusu, retired lecturer at KNUST, (Academic) and Mr. Bernard Ofori Yeboah, the Managing Director of Bentronics Agrochemicals, (Agro business).

The award is aimed at recognizing the contributions of these individuals in their chosen fields and the leadership role they are playing while encouraging others to follow their exemplary leadership.

Speaking at the ceremony in Kumasi, the Most Reverend Godwin Davids, Chairman of the Center, commended the award winners for distinguishing themselves in their various fields of endeavour.

He said, this year, the award for excellence in Constitutional and Democratic Governance went to the Nigerian government.

Rev. Davids said the Centre as an independent NGO, has no ties with any political, religious, social or economic movement, entity or organization. Its sole purpose is promoting effective and responsible leadership in all fields of endeavour in Africa and beyond.

Rev. Dr. Twum Barimah of Winning Ways Gospel Center in Kumasi, said Ghana could only change its plight when people changed their attitude.

He said the best transformation that could be meaningful to Ghana is to ensure peace in the upcoming elections in December.

Dr Felicia Boakye Danquah and Dr. Bernard Ofori Yeboah expressed their gratitude to the organisers, saying that the award will be worthless if they did not impact on more lives for national development.**
