Fulani gunmen rob Total Filling Station in Wa

A group of Fulani gunmen have allegedly attacked a Total Filling Station located around SSNIT in Wa, and made away with an unspecified amount of money.

The attack which happened at about 230hours on Wednesday morning, however, recorded no casualties.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Edmond Nyamekye, Acting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Upper West Regional Police Command, briefed the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Wa about the incident.

He said at about 0630hours in the morning, the police got information from one Abubakar Mahama, a security man at the Total Filling Station that at about 230hours, a white Toyota Hilux pick-up with seven men on board, pulled up at the station wielding cutlasses and a gun.

ASP Nyamekye said the security man told the police that the robbers broke into the Filling Station Supermarket and destroyed their computers, ostensibly in search of money.

Mr. Kwame Oppong, driver of a fuel tanker which was at the filling station to discharge fuel, was also attacked in the process, and an unconfirmed amount of Ghc2,000 was taken from him.
