Freemason hands over refurbished assembly hall.

The Freemason society of Ghana has refurbished the assembly hall of the Tarkwa Senior High school at a total cost of GHC26,000.

The refurbishment was completed within a record time, under the auspices of the Tarkwa District Grand Lodge of Ghana, English constitution.

The Assistant District Grand Master of the Freemason of Ghana, Dr. William Husunukpe, handed over the refurbished assembly hall to the headmistress of the school at an inaugural ceremony in Tarkwa.

He said work done on the hall include tiling of the floors and walls, replacement of water closets, wash hand basins, broken louvers as well as painting.

Mr. Husunukpe said the society over the past years had contributed immensely to the development of the country.

He said the society recently presented twenty sewing machines to the Catholic vocational institute at Tarkwa and a wheel chair to a physically challenged mother at Abontoako, adding that, last year they also distributed five hundred mosquito bed nets to students of Tarkwa and Fiaseman Senior High Schools.

He said although charity is one of the fundamental principles of Freemasonry, they do not provide support to only those in the fraternity but extends it to others within their respective communities.

Mr. Husunukpe said the society will continue to assist the needy in society and ensure that widows and orphans are well catered for.

The headmistress of Tarkwa Senior High School, Madam Paulina Akosua Manu thanked the Freemason of Ghana for the kind gesture and appealed to them to expand the assembly hall in the near future as it can currently accommodate only 500 out of the total population of 1500 students.
