Four communities in Agona East hooked on to national grid

Agona Jacob (C/R), June 14, GNA – Four communities in the Agona East

District have been connected to the national electricity grid. They are Jacob, Domiabra, Kwasam and Osedu.

Inaugurating the projects at Agona Jacob near Agona Swedru, Mr John Oremus Arko, District Chief Executive, appealed to the people to take advantage of the electricity to establish cottage industries. Mr Arko commended Mr Samuel Adu Yeboah, a former District Chief Executive, for initiating the project by donating cement for moulding the poles.

The DCE assured communities in the District that asre not connected to the grid that they would soon have their turn as he had submitted their names to the Ministry of Energy for consideration. Nana Nyarko II, Chief of Agona Jacob commended the government for it s concern for the rural folks and assured that they would use the electrici ty to improve their standard of living.
