Former employee of University of Ghana commits suicide

Ho, Jun 17, GNA – Mr Simon Amegatse, a 58-year-old former employee of the University of Ghana, Legon, committed suicide at home in Ho on Wednesday.

The late Amegatse left a suicide note in which he described his wife as 93Jezebel.” 93Tell that Jezebel, I’m gone,” he stated in the not= e. Mr Amegatse left two wedding rings tied together and his mobile phone on a table in the living room where he hanged himself.

A police source who confirmed the story to the GNA said the couple, who have four children, had marital challenges for several years on their return from the United Kingdom and lived separately. The source said Mr Amegatse, who rented part of his apartment to some students of Ho Polytechnic, committed the act while the students were away on vacation. The source said one of the students came back on Thursday to find out whether his brother had come back from Accra and found Amegatse’s body hanging on the ceiling fan and reported to the Police. Mr Amegatse’s body has been deposited at the Ho Municipal Hospital morgue while his wife has been invited by the Police to assist in investigations.
