Fire razes down GHANASS Girls’ dormitory

Fire has destroyed the Girls’ Dormitory of the Ghana Senior High School (GHANASS) in the Eastern regional capital of Koforidua Thursday evening.

According to Starr News’ Eastern regional correspondent Kojo Ansah, the situation has rendered most of the students homeless since the inferno consumed most of the rooms housing them.

He said the students were unable to salvage their personal belongings because they were at ‘prep’ when the incident occurred.

The Ghana National Fire Service has commenced investigations into the incident, after going through a tough session to douse the blaze.

Some of the affected students have resorted to the classrooms to pass the night while others are putting up with their colleagues nearby.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
