Fire guts Orca Deco

Fire yesterday afternoon gutted some parts of the office building of Orca Deco, dealers in home and office decoration accessories on the Graphic Road, Accra.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained but information gathered indicated that the fire began at the managing director’s office around 2:00pm and spread to the accountant’s office, destroying documents, computers and furniture.

In an interview with DAILY GUIDE, the officer in charge of watch at the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Eric Nortey, said they got a call around 2:00pm that the office building of Orca Deco was on fire.

He said they quickly rushed to the premises, adding that it took them just a few minutes to bring the situation under control.

Mr. Nortey said they did not know the cause of the fire but a full-scale investigation would be carried out to ascertain the cause of the fire outbreak and advise them appropriately to avoid future occurrences.

Orca Deco deals in retail services, gifts, florists, home and garden, carpet and rugs.
