Ex-convict jailed for 10 years

Dormaa Ahenkro, Nov 1, GNA – A Dormaa Ahenkro Circuit Court has sentenced a 31 year-old man arrested wearing stolen clothes to 10 years imprisonment.

Kwame Danso was released from prison recently after serving a six-month term for a similar offence.

He pleaded guilty and begged for forgiveness but the Court presided by Mr Justice Philip Bright Mensah ignored and sentenced him. Chief Inspector Asare Bediako told the Court that five students of Mansen Secondary School at Wamfie reported the theft of their personal effects from their dormitory.

He said on October 6 the students had a tip off that Danso was wearing some of the stolen items and alerted the Police who later arrested him.

The court ordered that other stolen items the Police retrieved from Danso’s home should be returned to the students.
