Evatex Logistics Limited has given the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) a seven-day deadline to reverse its decision to terminate the company’s revenue assurance contract, warning of legal action if the directive is not rescinded.
In a letter to the GACL Managing Director, Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, Evatex described the termination as “unreasonable and taken in bad faith.” The company said it was surprised by the move, especially after having invested $64.6 million in infrastructure tailored to GACL’s operations.
The termination letter, dated July 28, 2025, directed Evatex to demobilise and vacate the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) cargo terminal by August 27, 2025. GACL reportedly justified its decision by citing the absence of any detected revenue concealment or recovery since the start of Evatex’s operations, which meant the company was not due any payments.

Evatex, however, rejected that claim, stressing that it had already begun operations and submitted reports for review.
“Our client considers the intention to terminate the said contract as actuated by bad faith and unreasonableness,” the company’s letter stated.
The firm added that failure to withdraw the termination letter within the seven-day window would leave it with no choice but to take legal action to recover its investment and seek other reliefs.
Meanwhile, the contract is under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) over concerns about Evatex’s reported links to Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML). As part of the probe, former GACL Board Chairman Paul Adom-Otchere was recently questioned by the OSP regarding contracts awarded during his tenure.
