Abitotia (E/R), July 14, GNA – An evangelist of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Evangelist Kenneth Amofa Owusu, is constructing a GH¢100 million vocational institute complex at Abitotia near Nkawkaw to train physically challenged persons in employable skills.
They are to be trained in dressmaking, fashion designing, masonry, carpentry, plumbing, soap making and Information and Communication Technology (ICT), to become self -employed to earn a living.
The aim is to stop them from soliciting for arms on the streets and at market centres.
Evangelist Owusu announced this when the Bishop of the Koforidua Dioceses of the Methodist Church, Right Reverend Fredrick Nnuro, broke the grounds for the construction of the project.
He said that was his contribution to create employment for the people with disabilities to generate income to earn a decent living and cater for their families.
The evangelist called on churches and well-to-do in society not to only give arms to the physically challenged persons along the roads, but also assist to train them to be gainfully employed.
Rt. Rev. Nnuro commended the evangelist for the assistance and urged other philanthropists to come to the aid of the less privilege in the society.
