Ellembelle District Officials tour projects sites

Ankobrah (WR), March 31, GNA – Officials of the Ellembelle District Coordinating and Planning Unit (DCPU), has visited two project sites to monitor and evaluate ongoing projects at Ankobrah and Ka-Nokware both in the district.

The visit, which is a routine exercise, seeks to examine the progress of work on contracts awarded by the Assembly to ensure the timely execution of projects.

The District Works Engineer, Mr William Tei-Kpoti noted that there were four projects being funded under the District Development Facility (DDF).

These are the construction of a 10-seater Aqua Privy Toilet at Nkroful Agric Senior High School, construction of a six-unit classroom block at Ka-Nokware, construction of three-unit classroom block at Ankobrah and the manufacturing of refuse containers. He explained that the four projects were the first to be awarded under the DDF adding that the progress of work was encouraging and was optimistic that the contractors would meet the deadline or even hand over before the scheduled date.

Mr Tei-Kpoti indicated that the projects at Ka-Nokware and Ankobrah, which begun on November 20 last year was expected to be completed by July 30 this year and April 15, 2010 respectively. The District Chief Executive, Mr Daniel K. Eshun, called on the contractors to execute quality works to benefit the people as well as merit future contracts from the Assembly. He thanked the contractors for being proactive in their work and prevailed upon them to continue their good work to enable the students at Ka-Nokware and Ankobrah to use the facility when school re-opens. 30 March 10
