Elected Assemblyman expresses his appreciation to electorate

Ekwamkrom (C/R), Oct. 5, GNA – Mr Robert Mintah, newly elected Assembly Member for Ekwamkrom Electoral Area near Swedru in the Gomoa District of the Central Region, on Wednesday told his teeming supporters that he was “leaving no stone unturned” to rally the electorate behind him and work hard to bring improvement to the area. Mr Mintah was speaking at a get-together, which was massively attended by the electorate from Jukwa and Ekwamkrom, to show his appreciation for their loyalty to him at Ekwamkrom. Mr Mintah, who has won the assembly seat for the second time running polled 557 votes, as against a total of 516 scored by his other three contestants.

He called on the traditional elders and other opinion leaders in the area to regard his election as a an opportunity to rejuvenate and unify the people of Jukwa and Ekwamkrom for the improvement of their living conditions.

“To achieve this,” he explained, “I will endeavour to elevate the electoral area’s development programmes to a new level and do away with the politics of hate and vindictiveness and return to the politics of values and issues.

He said his election to the Gomoa District Assembly for the second time in succession, would provide him the opportunity to continue and complete the projects and ideals that he and the unit committee members initiated.

Mr Mintah entreated women in the area to rally behind him with a sense of progress and development, adding; “I would ensure that the Assembly gives out credit facilities to a number of women’s groups engaged in small-scale businesses.

He added that, the government through the Assembly, was prepared to bring positive changes in the lives of the vulnerable, mostly women and children in the rural areas.
