Elected assembly member vows to live up to expectation

The newly-elected Assembly Member for the Manso-Yawkrom Electoral Area, Mr. Kwame Ayensu-Barimah, has promised to lead the people to bring development to the area.

He said he was not going to disappoint those who voted for him and that he would live to the expectation of all.

Mr. Ayensu-Barimah, popularly known as “Nana Kantinka”, polled 373 votes to beat his challenger Mr. Kofi Kontor, who garnered 240 votes, in the district level elections held yesterday across the country.

Addressing his jubilant supporters immediately after he had been declared winner, he said his priority was to tackle the water problem faced by the Manso-Yawkrom and Kwankyeabo communities.

Mr Ayensu-Barimah said he would do everything to ensure that mechanized boreholes were provided to assure the people of uninterrupted supply of potable water.

Mr. Ayensu- Barimah said he would also push for the upgrading of the 10 kilometre Manso-Asaman Junction-Agroyesum road to allow for easy transportation of the sick to the Saint Michael’s Hospital.

He said he would rally the people to stand with him every step of the way to make his development dreams for Manso –Yawkrom come to fruition.
