Education should prepare students for future-Prof Andam

Adadientem (Ash), Nov 17, GNA – Professor Kwesi Andam, Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), on Tuesday said the acquisition of education should be based on principles to enlighten and prepare students for the future. He, therefore, requested school and examination authorities to put in place measures to prevent examination malpractices.

Prof Andam, who was speaking on the topic: “Self-discipline, a Key to Academic Excellence” at a forum organised by the Church of Christ Secondary/Commercial School at Adadientam near Ejisu urged school authorities to dismiss students would not obey school rules and regulations.

He advised students against examination malpractices, smoking, alcoholism, sex, hooliganism and other practices that could ruin their development.

Mr Jasper Kwasi Ahovey, Headmaster of Tweneboa Kodua Secondary School at Kumawu, who spoke on “Time Management, a Key to Success”, advised the public to be punctual at function, saying time was a valuable to development and should not be wasted. He advised students to take their studies seriously to enable them to pass their examinations to justify the huge investment being made in their education.
