Education Ministry deletes 6,000 names from payroll

The Education Ministry has revealed that it has deleted over 6,000 names of “separated staff” from its payroll.

This follows an audit of teachers all over the country for redistribution.

“In this exercise we were able to delete over 6,000 staff from our payroll”, sector minister Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang told a News Conference in Kumasi Thursday.

Opoku Agyemang added that there are a lot of classrooms without teachers, hence an embargo placed on areas where teachers have oversubscribed.

“What we have done is to place an embargo on the areas where the teachers are oversubscribed”.

She added that: “We are also requesting a review of the human resource policies and practices in all of our agencies”.
