Armed robbers have killed two people including a Chinese miner in the Eastern region.
The robbers killed the Chinese, and the driver of a taxi in which they were travelling on the Akyem kwarbeng -Anyinam highway Wednesday evening.
The area has recorded a number of highway robbery cases in recent times.
According to an eyewitness, the robbers blocked the road around 8pm and robbed all the vehicles that passed at that time.
“A Chinese miner who was in one of the cars told them that he had no money on him and that provoked them to shoot him.
“A gold dealer was robbed off GHC3000 and they took GHC500 from another miner.
“The taxi driver was shot because he saw the attack and attempted to reverse his car but unfortunately they saw him and killed him instantly,” he narrated to Starr News.
The incident is being investigated by the Anyinam Police Command
