Dzifa Attivor sacked me from DVLA Board – NDC Chairman

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bismark Tawiah Boateng, says he is still finding it very difficult to reconcile his relationship with former Minister for Transport, Dzifa Aku Attivor, having experienced a torrid time at her hands.

Dzifa Attivor, he noted, sacked him from the Board of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) he was appointed to serve on, by then President of the land John Evans Atta-Mills of blessed memory in a very bizarre circumstance he finds very difficult to comprehend.

But be as it may, he said he did not complain because he saw it as an internal party issue that was not worth discussing it in public.

Mr. Boateng and Dzifa Attivor are all card bearing members of the NDC.

Interacting with Accra based Okay FM, Tuesday, Mr. Boateng said he rejoiced when Madam Aku Attivor resigned her position due to public pressure over her role in the infamous bus branding saga.

That aside, he said he is patiently waiting for the day the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, will begin probing Madam Attivor under whose supervision the bus branding contract was awarded.

“We are all waiting for Akufo-Addo to invite Dzifa Attivor. The President has told us that all those who in one way or the other misappropriated state funds will face the full rigours of the law. But such exercise should not be political harassment. It should be genuine,” he stressed.

Madam Attivor’s actions, he alleged, contributed immensely to the defeat of the NDC in the 2016 general elections.

Mr. Boateng was commenting on the Dr. Kwesi Botchwey’s report that was recently presented to the party hierarchy.
