Don’t be petty and accept to live in peace – Primate Adofo

Primate Seth K. Adofo, Spiritual Head of the Brotherhood Church, has asked Ghanaians to overcome pettiness and intolerance, to stave off unnecessary political and social tension.

They should accept to forgive the wrongs of other people, respect and to accommodate divergent views.

He said that was the path to travel to assure the society of enduring peace and harmony.

Primate Adofo was speaking at a ceremony held to bring the curtains down on the church’s annual seven-day prayer and fasting festival held at Asuoyeboa in Kumasi.

The event was to thank God and ask for his continued blessings of peace, safety and progress not only of the nation but the entire human race.

More than 4,500 members of the church from across Ghana and neighbouring Togo, attended.

Primate Adofo poured scorn on the emerging trend of curse invocation by the people including those, professing to be Christians, at the least provocation and described that as awful and shameful.

He said cursing anybody for whatever reason could only fuel acrimony and that was why it should be condemned and not to be encouraged.

He reminded Christians to lead decent and pious lives – reflect sublime qualities of honesty, integrity, modesty, calmness and selflessness.

It was by doing this that they would become a positive influence on society and bring change.

Primate Adofo counseled the youth to desist from acts of lawlessness, impunity and anything that could lead to self-destruction.
