‘Dissuade Muslim youth from joining terrorist groups’

Alhaji Amidu Sulemana, Upper West Regional Minister has urged Muslim leaders to educate the youth against joining terrorist groups.

He made the call in a speech read for him on the occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha prayers in Wa where members of the Sunni Muslim community converged at the Jubilee Park on Thursday to participate in the Eid prayers.

Alhaji Sulemana noted that terrorist organisations were a danger to world peace and that the youth should not associate with them.

He charged Muslim parents to pay particular attention to the proper upbringing of their children, saying that all must work to save them from extremism and other anti-social practices which rather contravened the teachings of Islam.
