Deputy South African President calls on President Mills

President John Atta Mills on Friday, reaffirmed Ghana’s relations with South Africa saying that, the two countries are working together to improve the living standards of their people.

He said Ghana values its relations with South Africa and would improve cooperation with it for their mutual benefit.

President Mills said this when he granted audience to South Africa’s Deputy President, Kgalema Petrus Motlanthe, who is on a three-day visit , at the Castle, Osu .

He praised the role South Africa played in resolving the Ivorian crisis and called for more collaboration among African countries.

Deputy President Motlanthe said, President Jacob Zumah would pay a reciprocal visit to Ghana before the end of the year.

During the visit, the Deputy President Motlanthe would lay a wreath at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and later hold meetings with the officials of the Ministries of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Energy, Science and Environment.

He would also meet South African business executives and visit the Akosombo Dam.**
