DCE Commends Asantehene’s Vision for Education

Nsokote (Ash.) Nov. 20, GNA – Mr Peter Kwabena Ameyaw, Adansi North District Chief Executive, has commended Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II for his commitment and vision towards the promotion of education in the country.

Mr Ameyaw gave the commendation when he inspected a block of six classrooms, head teacher’s office and store, a library and staff common hall; toilet and teachers’ quarters at Nsokote. The project is under the Otumfuo’s Promoting Partnership with Traditional Authorities Project.

The District Chief Executive said the imposing nature of the project was the manifestation of “the vision Otumfuo has in the development of education in the country”.

Mr Ameyaw, who said he was overwhelmed by the project, praised Otumfuo for his developmental spirit and urged the Nsokote community to make sure that the school became beneficial not only to them but to the whole nation.

He, therefore, challenged the parents to see to it that all children of school-going age were enrolled in the school. “These facilities are far better than some community senior secondary schools and that no child should go to this school and come out unsuccessful”, he said and encouraged parents to offer all the needed basic things to their children to help them in the learning process.

Mr Ameyaw advised the community to ensure proper maintenance of the project to encourage Otumfuo to undertake more of the projects. He said the District Assembly was committed to the development of education in the new district and that it would support such initiatives aimed at improving the acquisition of knowledge by the youth. Mr Ameyaw later presented 240 exercise books to the pupils in the school as the Assembly’s contribution towards their education. 20 Nov. 05
