CPP gives to Berekum SHS Fire victims

The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has donated relief items in support of students of the Berekum Senior High School (SHS), whose property got ravaged, when fire swept through their dormitory.

These included pieces of bedspread and large quantity of men’s underwear – trunks.

Mr. Eric Osam-Pinanko, Berekum East Constituency Chairman, said it was the party’s “widow’s mite” to bring some comfort to the affected students.

They would continue to show solidarity and stand with the school authorities every step of the way to restore normal academic work.

He expressed optimism that the CPP’s gesture would inspire others – individuals, groups and organizations to assist the SHS in its difficult times.

Mr. Thomas Effum, Assistant Headmaster – Academic, thanked the party for the assistance and appealed for more public aid.

Fire raced through the block ‘B’ of the boys’ dormitory on Friday, January 22, and left behind misery and devastation – laid to waste books and personal belongings of the students.

None of them was, however, hurt.
