Cape Coast, Jan. 9, GNA- An 18-year-old Senior Secondary School student from Mankessim, who together with two others now at large, stole two sheep during the Christmas festivities, was on Friday bonded to be of good behaviour for 18 months by a Circuit Court at Cape Coast.
Philip Amoah pleaded guilty and promised to turn a new leaf. He pleaded with the court presided over by Mr. Mustapha Logoh to deal leniently with him because he was a first offender.
He would go to jail for one-year if he defaults.
Passing sentence, Mr. Logoh said since Amoah was young and had shown remorse, he would give him the opportunity to reform.
Chief Inspector of Police Samuel Oduro-Kwarteng, told the court that on December 28, last year at about 5.30pm, some members of the Mankessim volunteer group saw Amoah and the two others, with two sheep, valued at 350,000 cedis each, tied with pieces of fishing nets by the road side looking for a vehicle to convey them to Cape Coast.
The volunteers became suspicious and confronted them. The two others, whose names were given as Fiifi and Yaw, bolted, but Amoah was arrested.
