Cop ‘mistakenly’ shoots colleague in Kumasi

A police officer has accidently shot his colleague in the arm at Santase, a town in Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.

Radio XYZ’s Ashanti regional correspondent, Isaac Bediako Justice reported that the two police officers were on their way to an accident scene when they met an angry mob chasing a suspected car snatcher.

The police officers decided to stop their vehicle and help out; one of the Police officers, Kwabena Yaw managed to catch the suspected car snatcher but could not overpower him.

His colleague Emmanuel Boateng then decided to shoot the suspected car snatcher to weaken him, but he mistakenly shot his colleague, Kwabena Yaw in the arm.

He has, however, been sent to the Kumasi General hospital for treatment.

However, the car snatcher is managed to get away and is still on the run.
