Construction of Upper West Akyem Assembly office begins

Antwi-Boasiako Sekyere, Eastern Regional Minister, has cut the sod for the commencement of construction works of an office complex for the Upper West Akyem District Assembly at Adeiso.

The 50 room office complex, which would house the Assembly is estimated to cost GH¢ 1,500,000 and scheduled for completion in nine months’ time.

Addressing the Chiefs and people of the district, Mr. Antwi-Boasiako commended the Upper West Akyem District Assembly for their enormous contribution towards the development of the district.

He assured them of government’s intention to rehabilitate some major roads in the region, including the Nsawam to Asamankese road, which passes through Adeiso.

The Regional Minister said, soon a new district hospital would be constructed, as well as a fire station.

Mr. Derick Bekoe, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Upper West Akyem assured that, the district would contribute it’s quota towards the development of the country.

Nana Addo Yeboah, the Krontihene of Adeiso was grateful to government for the project.

He appealed to the Regional Minister to help the district to get a hospital that can also the 120 surrounding communities, as they currently depend on the only clinic in the district.

Nana Yeboah urged the people in the area to support the construction company to deliver quality work.
