Conference on Teaching of Physics to be held in March

Accra (Greater Accra), 22 Jan. ’99 – The Second Regional Conference on the Teaching of Physics at the secondary school level is scheduled to take place in Accra on March 15, 1999. The 10-day conference will be under the directorship of Professor Francis K.A. Allottey, Chairman of Ghana Atomic Energy Commission. Dr Theophilus A. Ossei-Anto, Conference Secretary, said in Accra today that participants are expected from Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, Togo, Benin and Cote d’Ivoire. He said eminent physics lecturers for the conference will include Prof. Samuel Adjepong, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, Prof. Videl Godwin, University of Sierra Leone, Prof. Stephen Daramola, University of Ilorin, Nigeria, and Prof. Aba Andam of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. The first regional conference was organised last year for mathematics teachers in second cycle schools.
