Comrade Paul Sowah goes home

Old Tafo (E/R), Sept. 27, GNA – A founding member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and one time the Commandant of the erstwhile Workers Brigade, Comrade Paul Sowah was buried at Old Tafo in the Eastern Region at the weekend.

He was 104 and left behind a widow, Mrs Martha Oforiwaa Sowah, 10 children, 38 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

The National Chairman of the CPP, Ms Yaba Samia Nkrumah, led a team of National and Eastern Regional executives of the party to attend the funeral.

Speaking at the thanksgiving service, Ms Nkrumah paid tribute to the contributions of Comrade Sowah to the establishment and growth of the CPP and the sacrifice that he made towards the building of post colonial Ghana.

Among the members of the party who attended the funeral included, Professor Agyeman Badu Akosa, a leading member of the CPP, Madam Rodaline Imoro Ayana, Second National Vice-Chairman of the party and Madam Mary Ankomah Boateng, National women’s Organiser.
