Commotion in Lapaz as residents clash with police

Reports reaching RadioXYZonline.com indicate that police personnel have clashed with residents near the Lapaz side of the N1 Highway in Accra.

According to the residents, the commotion started after a pedestrian was knocked down by a speeding vehicle on that section of the road.

The person killed, according to report, is a very popular individual in the neighbourhood and this has infuriated his friends, who have blocked that section of the road to demand justice.

The police have fired warning shots to disperse the angry crowd but the crowd remained defiant, the report adds.

Jeffrey, an eyewitness told XYZ News people are running helter skelter as the police intensify their operation to disperse the mob.
