Churches told to help instil discipline in society

Obuasi (Ash), Oct 7, GNA- The Principal of the Ghana Bible College in Kumasi, has called on churches and other religious bodies to help instil discipline in society.

Dr Augustine Tawiah, the principal was speaking at the special church service at the Obuasi Central Church of Christ, during which Evangelist Kaakyire Aning was inducted into office as the second preacher of the church.

Dr Tawiah said; “The relationship between ministers of the church and members should be transparent and democratic so that our understanding and practice of participatory governance will end up in peaceful elections.

Elder Kingsley Adu, director of finance of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), who was the guest speaker, explained that the preacher was the focus of peace, unity and tranquillity within the church.

He, however, admitted that even though the preacher was the light of the church, some of them become the source of animosity in the church.

Elder Adu advised the new preacher not only to be the source of love, unity and peace for the members but should come out with a plan that would help to increase membership of the church.
