Church Donates Items To Training Centre

Jachie (Ash), July 10, The Kumasi metropolitan youth wing of the Church of Christ, has donated items and cash totalling one million cedis to the Jachie Training Centre for the Disabled. The items include two sewing machines, two bags of rice, a bag of sugar, and second-hand clothing and shoes. Evangelist Charles Antwi Addai of the Ashanti New Town society of the church, hoped the items would help make life comfortable for trainees at the Centre. He gave the assurance that the church would pay regular visits and donate to the centre saying, “as Christians we are obliged to help provide for the needy.” Mr Maxwell J. K. Boakye, bursar of the centre who received the donation, expressed appreciation to the Church for the assistance and appealed to other institutions and organisations for support. The youth had earlier spent several hours clearing weeds, desilting gutters and removing cobwebs at the centre .
