Christians urged to use Easter to lead positive lives

Tamale, April 4, GNA – Christians have been urged to observe the Easter festivities and the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death by eschewing corruption, bribery, cheating and material gains. Reverend Father Augustine Kofi Owusu, a visiting priest to the Tamale Ola Catholic Church told the congregants that they must renew their lives and live uprightly to gain blessings from Christ. He was officiating a mass in Tamale on Sunday to mark the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

He said Jesus died to save mankind from his sins and ascended into heaven and would come again for the righteous. Father Owusu said Christians must seek the kingdom of heaven first and all other things would be added to them adding, the acquisition of material wealth through negative means was unacceptable in the eyes of God. He urged them to renew their faith with Christ in peace adding, “Life without examination was not worth living”. The Ola Catholic Church also baptized 81 persons to add up her congregation and were tasked to spread the word of God in the light of Christ.

At the Winners Chapel International, Pastor Victor Hill, the Presiding Pastor, said the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ was the greatest event to have happened in human history and therefore urged Christians to reflect over it and live morally upright lives in order to be saved. He said Christians could only do this by emulating the life of Christ by repenting from their sinful deeds, having faith and praying without ceasing. Pastor Hill told the congregation to be joyful since Christ resurrection was a signal that there was hope for mankind for a glorious future. He said by the stripes Christ received on the cross, man’s sins had been forgiven and we were also freed from all manner of diseases. 4 April 10
