Chieftaincy Staff To Be Redesignated

Ho (V/R) – Negotiations are going on to change designations of staff of the chieftaincy secretariat as part of efforts to accelerate their promotions. Mr. Akwasi Asare Ankomah, Chairman of the Executive Council of Chieftaincy Workers Association of Ghana, said today that this at a meeting of the council at Ho to plan its congress scheduled for Tamale next month. It will also discuss the implementation of past resolutions. Mr. Ankomah observed that the present designations ”does not enhance promotion.” He assured members who have remained on the same grade for more than 10 years that they would soon be upgraded and advised them to justify their promotion by working harder. They should continue to learn on the job to increase productivity. In a welcoming address, Togbe Kpei the Second, Registrar of the Volta Region House of Chiefs, asked them to work hard and co-operate with chiefs adding that the main challenge facing them is curtailing chieftaincy disputes.
