Nkawie (Ash), Oct 17, GNA- Mr Justice George Kingsley Acquah, the Chief Justice, has stated that he is determination to ensure that cases were not piled up in courts.
He has, therefore, warned magistrates and court registrars who intentionally pile up cases through frivolous excuses that they would not be spared when found out.
Mr Justice Acquah was addressing the staff of the Atwima district court at Nkawie on Thursday during a surprise visit to the district to acquaint himself with the situation there.
He advised the staff of the Judicial Service to let honesty be their guiding principle to ensure justice for all.
Mr Charles Yeboah, the Atwima District Chief Executive, later took the Chief Justice round to inspect the 440 million cedis court building being put up by the district assembly.
Mr Yeboah explained that the assembly found it necessary to put up a court building because presently the court was housed in private premises which he noted, was not very conducive for the fair dispensation of justice.
He said funding was from the assembly’s share of the common fund and traditional sources and gave the assurance that the building would be completed by November this year.
The Chief Justice commended the assembly for putting up the building for the Judicial Service and advised the contractor, Bomens Company to complete the project on time.
Mr Justice Acquah was accompanied by Mrs Justice Kusi Appouh, Supervising High Court Judge for Ashanti.
