Chief Director Denies The Involvement Of “Mafia”

The chief director at the ministry of youth and sports Dan Piimi has described as ridiculous, claims by the former sports minister that a so-called “mafia” within the ministry is behind the loss of the 46,000 thousand dollars.

Circumstances surrounding the loss of the money to be paid to players of the Black Stars as winning bonuses in their world cup qualifier in Sudan remain unclear. Speaking to JOY FM Mr Piimi said he is not aware of any such group at the ministry in his twelve-year stay as has been alleged by the ex-sports minister.

He explained that as far as he knows, the chief accountant at the ministry handed over the money to the former minister and left his office.Mr Pimi expressed optimism that the probe by the government would end the speculation and bring sanity into sports administration in Ghana.
