Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has urged Ghana’s newly appointed envoys to be strategic and dedicated in their roles, representing the country with honour while advancing its foreign policy of peace, security, cooperation, and African progress.
Addressing the closing ceremony of the Conference of Heads of Mission and the orientation program for new envoys in Accra on Friday, September 5, 2025, Mr. Debrah urged them to foster partnerships, seize opportunities, and protect Ghana’s interests in ways that advance prosperity and global influence.
The Chief of Staff further tasked the envoys to pursue a forward-looking, proactive, and economically driven foreign policy tailored for the 21st century, highlighting economic diplomacy as the cornerstone of this agenda, urging the envoys to prioritize industrialisation, trade, value addition, investment, and partnerships that would translate into jobs, technology transfer, and sustainable development for the nation.
“Distinguished envoys, the task before you is great. You are the standard-bearers of Ghana’s reinvigorated foreign policy vision. Embrace economic diplomacy, champion African unity and integration, engage our diaspora meaningfully, and protect the welfare of every Ghanaian abroad.
“Advocate for our climate interests and work with integrity, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to our national interest,” he stated.
Mr. Debrah concluded by urging the envoys to depart with a renewed sense of purpose, inspired by the knowledge shared at the conference and the examples of those who have served with distinction.
“As envoys of Ghana, go and represent our nation with pride and vision. Foster partnerships, seize opportunities, and protect the interests that will prepare Ghana for greater prosperity and global influence,” he said.
