CAP 30 Beneficiaries advised

Accra, June 14, GNA – The Controller and Accountant General has said that difficulties in the processing of pension claims were due to the fact that retiring officers did not follow laid down procedures and regulations stipulated for such claims.

The regulations require for instance the processing of file of retiring employees six months before the commencement of retirement. A statement issued in Accra and signed by Mr John Prempeh, Controller and Accountant General, said the process guideline entitled: “Re-structured and Rationalized Processes for Pensions and Computation of Civil/Public Servants on Pensions CAP 30”, which was first published in 1995, had been updated.

The statement said the serialization of pensions CAP 30 would be published in the dailies from Monday June 14, 2004.

The statement warned that Pension Contractors would be arrested and prosecuted.

The statement said no fees whatsoever are charged during the processing of the documents.
