Canada gives computers to eight organisations

Mr Jean Pierre Bolduc, Canadian High Commissioner on Tuesday presented a computer each to eight organisations to facilitate their activities.

The beneficiaries are; Martin de Porres Hospital, Agomanya in the Eastern Region, Korle Gonno Youth Association, Greater Accra Region, Federation of Women Lawyers in the Greater Accra Region, Adomfie Vocational Institute, Kukruantumi, in the Eastern Region, Northern Ghana Children Library Project, in the Northern Region, Technology Secondary School Computer Club, Kumasi and Programme for Building Africa Capacity for Trade, Accra and the Council of State.

Mr Bolduc said the donation followed requests the organisations made for assistance through the Canada Fund for Local Initiative.He said the fund, since its existence has provided support in the area of classroom building, hospitals or maternity clinics and women in agriculture projects to local organisations involved in development activities.

Representatives of the various organisations took delivery of the equipment.
