Brong Ahafo reviews performance in health sector

Sunyani (B/A) March 2, GNA – The Brong Ahafo Region, collected a total of 8.1 billion cedis from 197,669 people last year, to boost the implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme.

Nana Kwadwo Seinti, Regional Minister announced this on Tuesday at the opening of a three-day annual review performance meeting of the Ghana Health Service, in Sunyani. He noted that available figures indicated that all districts in the Region are doing well in mobilising funds for the scheme. Nana Seinti expressed the need for all bottlenecks hampering the achievement of health targets in the Region to be removed. “Similarly, I will want to discuss… with the district mutual health insurance schemes, why the slow take off and what actions need to be taken for a smooth take off.”

Alhaji Dr. Mohammed B. Ibrahim, Regional Director of Health Service urged the meeting to come out with a credible, valid, reliable and quality regional report, which would help the Region to develop strategies in finding local solutions to teething problems facing the health sector.
