BONO EAST REGION: ‘Expect a Cashew factory soon’ – Techiman North MP promises Constituents at National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving

Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Techiman North in the Bono East Region has promised to establish a Cashew factory in her Constituency as her People who are predominantly cashew farmers deserve to earn more income from their labour.

She opines that; ‘it is a waste of energy to till a land for cashew farming and after harvest; you only sell the nuts and then dump the fruits, therefore her resolve to construct a new cashew processing factory where farmers will sell their cashew fruits and nuts after harvest, to earn more profit.

Hon. Ofosu-Adjare made this announcement at a joint Christian and Islamic service on Tuesday 1st July at Tuobodom to commemorate the first edition of the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving which brought together Nananom, Religious Leaders thus Pastors and their church members, Imams and their followers especially Pilgrims who have just returned from Mecca and people of Techiman North District.

On the theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving; ‘Reflect, Reset and Renewal for National Prosperity as proposed by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama the President of the Republic of Ghana, Lawyer Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare called for stronger religious tolerance, peace, and unity which will drive development emphasizing that peaceful coexistence among religious groups creates a stable environment for economic growth and social progress.

At this colourful national event, speakers expressed strong support for the nation to pray and give thanks, saying this is a significant step in the right direction for the nation calling on all to give the expected support for national unity.

The DCE for Techiman North, Hon. Adom Kwabena Johnson said the President’s declaration of the day as National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving acknowledges what God has done for the nation with a firm believe that Ghana needs God’s presence to thrive, applauding the government for the initiative.
