Bole: Robbers gun down gold dealer

A popular gold dealer in Bole, Aikaida, has been killed by suspected armed robbers.

The incident occurred at Gbenfu, a suburb of Bole, Thursday.

The development has thrown the Bole community in a state of shock.

An officer with the Bole Police command told Starr News on condition of anonymity that Aikaida was shot while returning from the river side after intervening in a scuffle between some suspected Ivorian rebels and illegal miners, over an ounce of gold.

Starr News’ Musah Lansa reports that the robbers were later given a hot chase by a well-known vigilante group in the area but could not arrest them.
