Blood donation low in Wassa West

Tarkwa, July 13, GNA – Mr Robert Turkson, a medical laboratory technologist at the Tarkwa Government Hospital said the fear by people to donate blood was having negative results on the hospital. He said a regular voluntary blood donation to the various hospitals would facilitate the delivery of health care including major and minor surgeries.

Mr Turkson said these at the second blood donation campaign launched by Dynamite FM in Tarkwa to assist and stock the blood bank of the hospital.

He said 101 people including 38 females participated in the programme. Mr Allen Anku, the Hospital Administrator said the donation was timely and expressed his appreciation to the voluntary donors for their response.

He said the regular donation of blood would reduce the stress some sick people and their relatives went through in looking for blood to enhance their recovery.

Mr Anku thanked the organisers of the programme for their assistance and urged other organisations to assist.
