Black Stars midfielder Mohammed Kudus has underlined Ghana’s determination to reach the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting the team will stop at nothing to secure qualification.
The Tottenham Hotspur star, speaking to Sports Illustrated, acknowledged the disappointment of missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations but stressed that the focus is now fully on the World Cup campaign.
“Obviously, AFCON is also one of the major tournaments that the country loves and wants to participate in,” Kudus said. “Not qualifying was a big disappointment, but I think the full focus now is on the World Cup qualifiers. We have to qualify at all costs. I think we are on the right path now.”
The Black Stars currently sit top of Group I with 19 points and need just four more to book their ticket to the global showpiece in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
Otto Addo’s side will face the Central African Republic on October 8 before returning home to play Comoros at the Accra Sports Stadium four days later.
Kudus, named in Ghana’s 24-man squad, will join his teammates in Morocco this weekend, where they are scheduled to hold three training sessions in Casablanca ahead of the CAR clash.
