Bishop dies after 21 days fasting

Rt. Rev. Dr. Reginald Ofori- Twumasi, a renowned Bishop in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis, has died at the age of 68.

The sudden death of the presiding Bishop of Holy Fire International Churches – with its headquarters in Takoradi – died last Friday at a private hospital at Anaji near Takoradi in the Western Region.

DAILY GUIDE gathered that the presiding bishop died after completing 21 days of fasting at an undisclosed location.

“He told the church members that he will be back after his 21 days’ fasting. But a few days after he had completed the fasting, he experienced a short illness and died later at the private hospital,” a source at the church told DAILY GUIDE.

A press release on the death of the bishop signed by Rev Jonathan Amoah, Vice President of Holy Fire International Churches, stated that the church and the family would observe the one-week celebration on Friday at the church premises in Takoradi.

It added that details of the funeral rites would be announced in due course.
