The General Overseer of the Gospel Revival Church of Christ, Bishop John Nana Kwame Boateng, has cautioned politicians not to excite ethnic passions, saying, that is dangerous to the country’s health and stability.
He said it would be irresponsible to head down that path – a red line that must be avoided.
He stated: “We need to focus on what unites us as a people with a common destiny and stay clear of anything that will tear us apart.”
Bishop Boateng made the call at a service to end a five-day revival programme held by the church in Kumasi.
“Unity and strength” was the theme, and it brought together members from all of its 13 branches across the nation.
He urged Ghanaians to smooth over their differences and work hard with unity of purpose to make the country a better place to live.
He admonished Christians and other religious groups to stand up against anything that is wrong and to continue to pray for God’s gift of peace.
The Bishop also appealed to the well-to-do Ghanaians to be generous to the poor and the under-privileged to help them to live in some dignity.
