Bantama chief molests man,59, for wearing ‘sleek’ sandals

There was drama in Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, following the public molestation of a 59-year-old man by the Chief of Bantama.

The chief according to Starr News’ Isaac Bediako Justice ordered his guards to remove the footwear of one Oppong Kyekyeku over claims that they were beautiful than his.

The incident occurred at a public function in the area Wednesday.

Speaking to Starr News Kyekyeku said he finds the incident to be a gross violation of his rights.

“I’m disturbed because in the face of the whole public; if your footwear is taken from you forcibly, it is very disturbing.

“The footwear was being displayed in the market and anybody at all could have bought similar footwear and there are so many people who might have purchased similar wear traditionally.

“What he did was unconstitutional and untraditional. It flies in the face of Ashanti tradition and Ashanti laws; it’s very unfortunate,” he bemoaned.
