Bank gives in support of sanitation management

Three communities and a senior high school (SHS) have been supplied with sanitation tools to efficiently manage their waste.

These included wheelbarrows, shovels, rake and stick brooms and were a gift from the Amansie West Rural Bank.

Santasi, Fankyenebra and Apire communities in Kumasi alongside Opoku Ware (SHS) received the tools.

Mr. Isaac Otchere-Antwi, the Board Chairman, said it was the bank’s contribution towards the fight to keep the city clean to prevent diseases.

He said it was not only interested in helping people to adopt savings culture and the growth of their businesses, but also cared for their health.

It was on the basis of this that it recently organized free health screening for residents in these communities – the people had their eyes and blood pressure tested.

They were additionally, examined for diabetes and other diseases.

Dr. Alexis Frimpong-Nimoh, Headmaster of Opoku Ware SHS, praised the bank for the gesture and said it would help to tremendously improve environmental sanitation.
