Bagbin: I never collapsed

Majority Leader, Alban Bagbin has dismissed media reports that he collapsed on the floor of parliament on Thursday.

“I was really surprised when I heard that it was in the news that I collapsed on the floor of Parliament, that is untrue”, Bagbin told Starr FM’s Parliamentary correspondent Kobby Gomez in an exclusive interview on Friday, October 3.

The Nadowli-Kaleo legislator was taken to the 37 Military Hospital after reporting to work Thursday.

Parliamentary sources said the legislator had gone for his beverage when his colleague MPs sensed he was unwell and immediately took him to see his doctor.

The former Works and Housing minister noted that he was only feeling dizzy.

“I was taken aback when I heard that [report] because all my colleagues in Parliament saw me walk to my car and I was driven away.

“I was feeling a bit dizzy and all of a sudden I started sweating.

Initially my colleagues said go to your office and rest and later they said let’s just go for a check up and so I went to 37; they did a check up and they found nothing wrong…and that was what happened”

He however added that he is thankful to God for his life.

“I am grateful to all my colleagues and the hospital and all the prayers that Ghanaians have heaped on me and I am really grateful to the almighty God for his intervention”.
